St. Jude Children's Research Hospital invites applications for a Postdoctoral Research Fellow specializing in pharmacogenomics of childhood cancer survivors.
The role focuses on genetic association analyses, multi-omics integration, and health disparities in diverse populations, with access to large sequencing and omics datasets and a collaborative, world-leading environment. The successful candidate will gain extensive training in genetic epidemiology, pharmacogenomics, and computational
The Department of Epidemiology and Cancer Control is seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral Research Fellow to join the laboratory of Dr. Yadav Sapkota. Successful candidates will work on projects related to pharmacogenomics of long-term toxicities of cancer therapy in childhood cancer survivors. This is a grant-funded position.
Specific research topics for this role include 1) genetic association analyses (whole genome and whole exome sequence associations and polygenic risk scores) for various long-term health outcomes among survivors of European and African ancestries; 2) analyses of multi-omics (genomics, transcriptomics, proteomics, and metabolomics) and system genetics (e.g., eQTLs regulating molecular responses to cancer therapies in human induced pluripotent stem cells) data for elucidating molecular mechanisms for health outcomes; and 3) evaluating health disparities through pharmacogenomics.
The candidate will have ample, immediate opportunities to work with large-scale whole genome and whole exome sequencing, RNA-seq, ATAC-seq, proteomics, and metabolomics data in a well-established cohort of childhood cancer survivors with clinically ascertained deep phenotyping of health outcomes at multiple time-points. S/he will work within a diverse, highly collaborative, and multi-disciplinary research environment and interact with world leaders in the fields of cancer survivorship, genetics, stem cell pharmacogenomics, epidemiology, biostatistics, and computational biology. The successful applicant will gain extensive training and experience in genetic epidemiology and pharmacogenomics, and computational and analytical skills with full access to cutting-edge tools/technologies and shared core facilities and resources. Grant-writing training opportunities and support are also available.
