Job summary

Texas A&M AgriLife seeks a Postdoctoral Research Associate in Animal Science to advance feed management education for NRCS personnel and stakeholders. The role develops workshops, webinars, and online courses and leads a Train the Trainers program to expand conservation expertise.

The incumbent will collaborate with the Feed Management Committee, prepare training materials, and contribute to outreach strategies, including mentoring students and supporting grant writing, with a November 1 hire

Qualifications

Position Information

We are seeking a Postdoctoral Research Associate who will play a key role in the Feed Management Committee's educational efforts, focusing on training NRCS personnel and other stakeholders. This role involves developing and delivering workshops, webinars, and online courses to facilitate the adoption of sustainable feeding practices. The successful candidate will design and implement a “Train the Trainers” program to build the capacity of conservation professionals, NRCS field staff, and other technical service providers, including podcasts and training meetings. The successful candidate will also help organize a topical summit focused on feed management, engaging various stakeholders, including policymakers and academia.

Responsibilities
  • The incumbent will collaborate with (1) developing and delivering targeted educational programs, including workshops, webinars, and online courses, for NRCS personnel, Extension professionals, and other stakeholders.
  • (2) Design and implement a “Train the Trainers” program to equip NRCS field staff and other conservation professionals with the knowledge and tools to promote feed management tools.
  • (3) Collaborate with the Feed Management Committee and other stakeholders to ensure that training materials align with project goals and the latest scientific research.
  • (4) Create training resources and educational content that can be disseminated via online platforms and in-person workshops.
  • (5) Support the development of outreach and engagement strategies to maximize the adoption of sustainable feed management practices. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to contribute to developing educational outreach materials, mentor undergraduate and graduate students, and participate in grant writing.
Required Qualifications

A PhD in animal science, soil and crop sciences, agricultural education, or a related field.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Desired qualities include multiple species production experience and/or animal nutrition for the feed management expectation.
  • Experience in developing and delivering educational programs, particularly in agriculture or animal science.
Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities

The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently and collaboratively. Proven experience in delivering educational content, both online and in-person meetings. Strong collaboration skills and ability to work with multidisciplinary teams. Familiarity with agriculture and feed management practices is preferred.
