Job summary

The Applegate Laboratory at the University of Southern California invites applications for a postdoctoral fellow to join an interdisciplinary team developing next-generation optical technologies for imaging the living human inner ear. The project combines biomedical optics, OCT, ultrafast lasers, and image-guided ablation for high-resolution cochlear imaging.

Ideal candidates hold a PhD in a related field and have hands-on experience with OCT, microscopy, and programming (MATLAB, Python, C++).

Qualifications

• PhD in biomedical engineering, optics, physics, electrical or mechanical engineering, or closely related field.
• Experience in OCT, microscopy, laser-tissue interactions, ultrafast lasers, image processing, optical instrumentation, and biomedical imaging.

Responsibilities

• Develop advanced OCT instrumentation and ultrafast laser systems for cochlear imaging.
• Validate experiments in ex vivo and in vivo models and contribute to translational efforts.
