Job summary

The Henry M. Jackson Foundation for the Advancement of Military Medicine, Inc. (HJF) seeks a Postdoctoral Fellow to lead development, evaluation, validation, and implementation of molecular and serological assays for infectious pathogens of military interest.

This role operates within the LDL at WRAIR and collaborates across US government and international partners. The incumbent will design protocols, perform validation studies, prepare scientific reports, and contribute to grant proposals

Qualifications

Ph.D. in molecular biology, virology, immunology or related discipline, with hands-on molecular/serological assay development.
Experience planning and executing verification/validation studies and developing SOPs.
Experience communicating findings via plans, reports and manuscripts.

Responsibilities

Lead development, evaluation, validation and implementation of molecular and serological assays for clinical/research use.
Design protocols and tests to develop advanced pathogen detection and genome sequencing capabilities.
Prepare reports, abstracts and manuscripts for conferences and journals.
Coordinate projects with LDL, cross-functional teams and senior leadership.
Ensure CAP/compliant laboratory operations and supervise staff as needed.
Assist with grant applications and project funding proposals.
