Job summary

The University of Houston invites applications for a postdoctoral research position focused on T-cell based therapies. The successful candidate will collaborate with engineers and clinicians, and contribute to immunological method development and publications.

A Ph.D. or MD/Ph.D. in molecular/cell biology or a related field is required. Strong English communication is essential; experience with animal models and immunological assays is preferred.

Qualifications

  • PhD in neuroscience, biomechanics, kinesiology, psychology, biomedical engineering, or related field.
  • Highly motivated, punctual, and proactive with ability to manage and complete complex projects.
  • Exceptional communication and organizational skills, with ability to conduct independent research and collaborate in a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Proficiency in signal processing and statistical software (e.g., SPSS, Minitab) and programming in MATLAB/LabVIEW.
  • Preferred experience in motion capture data collection and analysis.

Responsibilities

  • Receives and reviews progress and evaluates results of experiments or projects under supervision.
  • Recommends changes in research, testing, or experimental procedures.
  • May be responsible for a single highly technical and complex piece of research equipment.
  • Review and evaluate the effectiveness of personnel.
  • Plan for and assign personnel to projects under control.
  • Operates with latitude for unreviewed action.
  • May receive general supervision, conferring with higher levels only in unusual situations.
  • Performs other job-related duties as required.
