Qualifications

• PhD in a field relevant to high energy density science (nuclear/plasma physics, astrophysics, etc.).
• Endorsement from a prospective LLNL mentor (permanent research staff).
• Eligible to access LLNL per NDAA.
• Creativity and proven accomplishments: publications, awards, or similar.
• Ability to propose and execute research aligned with LLNL HEDS needs.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills for collaboration and dissemination.

Responsibilities

• Conduct research in plasma physics, astrophysics, hydrodynamics, nuclear physics, high pressure science, or related areas.
• Organize, analyze, and present research data.
• Pursue independent research within LLNL's HEDS program and collaborate across teams.
• Publish results in peer-reviewed journals and present at conferences.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
