Job summary

The Department of Chemistry at the University of Colorado Boulder invites applications for a Postdoctoral Associate to explore nanoscale structure using cryogenic electron microscopy (cryo-EM). The project focuses on semiconductor nanocrystal–enzyme complexes and how nanoscale structure influences interfacial electron transfer and photocatalytic function.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in biochemistry, structural biology, biophysics, molecular biology, chemistry, physics, materials science, computational biology, or related field

Responsibilities

• Conduct research on semiconductor nanocrystal–enzyme complexes and nanoscale optoelectronic materials
• Design and perform cryo-EM experiments, including sample preparation, imaging, and single-particle analysis
• Investigate structure–property relationships related to electron transfer, catalysis, and photocatalytic function
• Analyze and interpret experimental data to guide research direction and project goals
• Prepare research reports, manuscripts, proposals, presentations, and related scientific communications
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary research teams and mentor graduate and undergraduate researchers
• Develop innovative methods for studying nanocrystal–enzyme systems
