Job summary

The University of Colorado Boulder invites applications for a Postdoctoral appointment in Social Science with the NC CASC to support a USGS-funded project on resilience planning in Colorado. The Postdoctoral Associate will lead ethnographic research, interviews, and surveys with state agencies and park managers, translating findings into actionable climate adaptation strategies.

Applicants should have a PhD in social science, strong qualitative methods, and the ability to work across academia

Qualifications

• PhD in social science or related field.
• Experience conducting ethnographic research, interviews, and/or surveys.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with project leadership on protocols and logistics.
• Conduct ethnographic research at Colorado State Parks.
• Conduct interviews with Colorado State Park and Wildlife Area Managers.
• Analyze interview transcripts to identify climate change sensitivities and adaptive capacity.
• Develop and distribute a survey instrument based on interview findings and analyze results.
• Lead development of communications on the research results and their implications.
• Support development and facilitation of an adaptation planning workshop for Colorado State Parks and Wildlife Area staff.
• Perform other relevant duties as necessary.
