Job summary

Indiana University Bloomington, HBW, invites applications for a two-year Post-Doctoral Fellow position in the History of Black Writing. Working with the Susan D. Gubar Chair and HBW Director, join an interdisciplinary team to highlight Black archival collections across the country.

The role requires a Ph.D. in a relevant field, strong communication and collaboration skills, and experience with archival description, finding aids, and digital collections.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in African American studies, American literature, public humanities, archival studies, library or related field.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders.
• Strong organizational and project management skills.
• Familiarity with archives and digital humanities tools.

Responsibilities

• Foster innovative scholarship in Black writing and digital humanities.
• Redesign and expand the Black Literature Network archives portal.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team and IU staff on access and preservation.
