Qualifications

• Ph.D. in Chemistry is required.
• Experience with inorganic and organic ligand synthesis and relevant analytical techniques (NMR, EPR, SXRD, mass-spectrometry etc.) is essential.
• Deep understanding of organic and/or inorganic synthesis desired.

Responsibilities

• Manage own academic research and administrative activities including small scale projects and deadlines.
• Train graduate and undergraduate students in research methods.
• Adapt existing and develop new scientific techniques and protocols to achieve objectives.
• Use specialist scientific equipment in a laboratory environment.
• Assist in maintaining a research laboratory and ordering equipment.
• Contribute ideas for new research projects.
• Undertake literature reviews and write results for publication in peer-reviewed journals.
• Collaborate in preparation of scientific reports and journal articles and present papers.
• Act as a source of information on protocols and techniques for group members.
• Represent the research group at external meetings or seminars.
• Carry out collaborative projects with partner institutions and research groups.
