Postdoctoral Fellow

Purpose

The postdoctoral fellow will coordinate and aid in the collection and dissemination of a project aimed at understanding the behavioral and neural basis of socioemotional processing. The project involves neuroimaging, neuropsychological and personality assessment, and linguistic analysis.

Responsibilities
  • Recruitment and scheduling of adult subjects from the community for a multisession study
  • Collect and analyze behavioral and neuroimaging data
  • Prepare manuscripts of the project results for peer‑reviewed publication outlets
  • Coordination of project logistics (e.g., IRB, study records and manuals, processing pipeline, pre‑registration, etc.)
Required Qualifications
  • PhD in psychology, neuroscience or related field (PhD must have been received no more than 3 years prior to start date).
  • Previous research experiences using behavioral tasks and fMRI approaches.
  • Strong record of peer‑reviewed publications.

Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Preference for previous research experience working with adult participants from a broad community.
  • Knowledge of FSL, Psychopy, data scraping.
Salary

$50,000 (annual)

Working Conditions

Retirement Plan Eligibility

The retirement plan for this position is Teacher Retirement System of Texas (TRS), subject to the position being at least 20 hours per week and at least 135 days in length. This position has the option to elect the Optional Retirement Program (ORP) instead of TRS, subject to the position being 40 hours per week and at least 135 days in length.
