Postdoctoral Associate - Multiple Vacancies

Overview

Rutgers University Behavioral Health Care (UBHC) offers a full continuum of evidence‑based behavioral health and addiction services for children, adolescents, adults, and seniors throughout New Jersey. The 1,060 experienced professionals provide inpatient, outpatient, partial hospitalization, crisis stabilization, family/caregiver support, community outreach, case management, supportive housing, employment, prevention, and a licensed therapeutic school. UBHC is a primary mental‑health training resource, delivering 16,000 trainings each year.

Posting Summary

The primary purpose of the Postdoctoral Associate is to be responsible for research and clinical activities with the Behavioral Research and Training Institute (BRTI) – Center for Integrated Care within Rutgers University Behavioral Health Care.

Responsibilities
  • Conceptualize, design and implement research and program evaluation projects in support of the lab’s mission.
  • Identify research projects that contribute to integrated behavioral health, addiction, or psychology knowledge based on literature.
  • Translate research ideas into concrete, specific, implementable projects that meet scientific and university standards.
  • Assist the AVP in preparing research proposals for grant support from federal, state, local units, and foundations.
  • Provide technical assistance to the research lab based on needs assessment and data collection.
  • Manage and coordinate research projects under the supervision of the AVP.
  • Prepare manuscripts summarizing center research projects for professional journals and publications.
Qualifications

Minimum Education and Experience

  • PhD, MD or MD/PhD in clinical or counseling psychology. Candidates ABD may be considered.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Enthusiastic, curious, and excellent communication skills.
  • Strong organizational, planning, project management, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Ability to interact effectively and sustain relationships with investigators, colleagues, and partners in an interdisciplinary research setting.
