Job summary

The Sleep-Vascular Program at Penn State College of Medicine in Hershey, PA seeks a Postdoctoral Scholar to lead a translational project on how intermittent hypoxia affects sympathetic and endothelial functions in humans and tissue models. You will work with vascular physiologists on cardiovascular studies and perform ex-vivo and in-vitro experiments with human tissue and cultured endothelial cells.

Minimum requirements include an MD or PhD in biological sciences and a strong publication record,

Qualifications

  • MD or PhD completed by start of employment.
  • Technical background required regardless of PhD.
  • Experience with transcription regulation, imaging, vascular biology, hypoxia research.
  • Experience with human research or completion of required training.
  • Experience with statistical software.
  • Proven writing abilities through publications.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Lead translational project evaluating intermittent hypoxia effects on sympathetic and endothelial functions in humans and tissue models.
  • Collaborate with cardiovascular physiology studies and lead ex-vivo and in-vitro experiments using human tissue and endothelial cells.
  • Coordinate with senior project manager overseeing wet-lab operations and ensure compliance with clinical research regulations.
