Job summary

The Aggarwal Group at UC Davis is seeking a postdoctoral researcher to lead R&D for a tabletop RF gravitational wave detector targeting axions. You will work under Prof. Aggarwal, collaborate with Prof.

Geraci’s group at Northwestern, and help run joint experiments with a Fabry-Perot Michelson interferometer and optically trapped micro-disks. Travel to Chicago may be required. The position is supported by a new DOE award and initial appointments span two years with annual renewal, including

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in physics or related field completed before start.
• Strong background in precision measurement and interferometry.
• Prior experience with quantum sensing or related optics is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Lead R&D toward a tabletop RF gravitational wave detector concept.
• Collaborate with UC Davis and Northwestern groups; contribute to design and testing.
• Travel to Chicago as needed for joint experiments and training at facilities like LIGO.
