Job summary

Colorado State University (CSU) seeks an independent, curiosity driven post-doctoral researcher to work on optical diagnostics of multilayer coatings for inertial fusion drivers. The research will focus on the implementation of optical metrology and the development of new diagnostic approaches to characterize coating behavior under intense illumination.

Close interaction with RISE hub industry participants is expected.

Qualifications

• PhD in a relevant field with strong experience in optical metrology and lasers.
• Experience with optical diagnostic instrumentation is preferred.
• Familiarity with AI/ML tools is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Plan and implement experiments to develop optical metrologies for coatings under intense illumination.
• Collaborate to design dielectric coatings with superior lifetime and laser damage performance.
• Engage in project meetings and report progress with internal and external collaborators.
