Job summary

Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Pasadena seeks a postdoctoral researcher in the Microdevices Laboratory (MDL) to advance microdevice technologies across integrated optics, nanophotonics, quantum sensors, and space detectors. Candidates should have a Ph.D. in engineering with hands-on fabrication experience, strong publication history, and excellent communication skills.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in engineering or equivalent experience.
• Hands-on micro-/nanofabrication and cleanroom processes.
• Deep knowledge of lithography, DRIE, and thin-film deposition.
• Strong publication record and ability to work independently and with others.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Define and conduct long-term technology development in MDL areas.
• Collaborate with JPL advisor and publish results in open literature.
• Contribute to future NASA/JPL missions and hardware concepts.
• Mentor and interact with cross-disciplinary teams across JPL and Caltech.
