Job summary

Iowa State University seeks a Postdoctoral Research Associate in Microbiology, Antimicrobial Discovery, and Diagnostic Technologies. The role focuses on microbial pathogenesis, AI-guided antimicrobial design, and validating rapid MIC assays using SERS.

Responsibilities include experimental design, data analysis, manuscript preparation, and presenting progress. Mentorship of graduate students and scholars is expected.

Qualifications

• PhD in biochemistry, microbiology, molecular biology, or related field.
• Experience with molecular biology techniques and gene expression analysis preferred.
• Experience with BSL-2 pathogens and peptide work is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design and conduct experiments in antimicrobial discovery and diagnostics.
• Analyze and interpret data; prepare manuscripts for publication.
• Present findings and progress updates regularly.
• Supervise and mentor graduate students and summer scholars.
