Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL) invites applications for a postdoctoral research associate focused on membrane and sorbent materials for advanced separations. You will join the Soft Materials and Membranes Group in the Chemical Sciences Division to develop energy-efficient materials and processes for energy applications.

The role includes collaborating on challenging problems, publishing results, and contributing to invention disclosures and external funding proposals, with appointment up

Qualifications

• PhD in a relevant field completed within the last 5 years.
• Strong foundation in separation and purification science and related materials areas.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to advance separation science and technologies.
• Support research and program-development activities in advanced separation and purification.
• Develop new research directions and contribute to proposals for external funding.
• Communicate findings through reports, conferences and peer-reviewed publications.
• Prepare invention disclosures and contribute to patent applications where appropriate.
