The Holmes Lab at the University at Buffalo is seeking a postdoctoral researcher to study innate immunity and pathogenesis in arthritogenic alphavirus infections. The role focuses on tissue tropism, infection permissiveness, and virus dissemination using in vivo and in vitro approaches.

Research explores two phases of alphavirus transport, with work on PDGFRα+ skeletal muscle mesenchymal cells and VEGF signaling.

Qualificações

• PhD in immunology, microbiology, or a closely related field.
• Extensive hands-on experience with qRT-PCR, flow cytometry, and imaging techniques.
• Proven ability to work with mouse tissues and primary cell cultures.

Responsabilidades

• Perform in vitro and in vivo experiments on arthritogenic alphavirus infections.
• Conduct qRT-PCR on mouse tissues and perform flow cytometry.
• Carry out microscopy and imaging of mouse tissues.
• Develop projects using single-cell and spatial RNA sequencing.
• Prepare manuscripts for publication.
• Work in both BSL-2 and BSL-3 environments with proper safety training.
