Sandia National Laboratories in Albuquerque, NM seeks a Postdoctoral Appointee in Hydrodynamic Energy Systems to investigate wave energy converter (WEC) control and co-design, current energy converter (CEC) technologies, and related hydrodynamic energy projects. You will work independently and with a multidisciplinary team on simulations, experiments, and documentation for publication.

Competenze

• Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering, Controls Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Ocean Engineering, Civil Engineering, or other relevant STEM field.
• Experience with MATLAB and/or Simulink.
• Demonstrated troubleshooting ability in debugging real hardware (sensors, power electronics, data-acquisition issues, etc.).
• Ability to obtain and maintain a DOE Q-level security clearance.

Mansioni

• Collaborate with other departments regarding energy conversion technologies.
• Conduct experiments to evaluate new technologies.
• Perform simulations, optimizations, and/or hardware tests and document results.
• Contribute to manuscripts for publication.
