Job summary

Berkeley Lab's BELLA Center seeks High Power Laser & Particle Accelerator Postdoctoral Scholars to advance laser-plasma accelerator technologies and high-energy beams. Qualifications

• PhD in Physics, Engineering, or a related field.
• Experimental experience in high power laser or particle accelerator facilities.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities, and ability to work independently.

Responsibilities

• Assist design and execution of experiments to optimize laser-plasma accelerators and radiation pulses.
• Help maintain operational procedures for multi-TW to PW-class laser systems.
• Apply feedback control/AI techniques to stabilize laser pulses and radiation output.
• Contribute to simulation studies of single-stage and multi-stage laser-plasma acceleration.
• Assist with simulations to develop high-brightness electron beams for radiation production.
• Collaborate with scientists, engineers, and theorists to carry out tasks and disseminate results.
