The University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign invites applications for one or more postdoctoral research positions in the High Energy Theory group, potentially joint with Fermilab, starting Fall 2027. Appointments are for two years with possible extension to a third year.

We seek candidates with interests in dark matter phenomenology, lattice field theory, lattice QCD, particle cosmology, or quantum information science, and who hold a Ph.D. within ten years of the start date.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in physics or closely related field; within 10 years of start date.
• Strong research record in high energy theory or related areas.
• Ability to collaborate across institutions and programs.

Responsibilities

• Carry out independent research in listed areas.
• Prepare and submit research statements and publications.
• Collaborate with UIUC and Fermilab teams.
