Job summary

Lilly is seeking a Postdoctoral Scientist in Drug Delivery Experimental Fluid Dynamics in Boston to advance inhalation therapies through benchtop and physiologically relevant models. The role integrates experimental measurements, flow visualization, and modeling to inform formulation decisions.

You will collaborate across disciplines, publish findings, and contribute to preclinical translation strategies while participating in Lilly’s postdoctoral community.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. conferred within the past 3 years.
• Hands-on experience in experimental fluid dynamics and benchtop/physiologically representative models.
• Experience designing and executing hands-on experiments with aerosol characterization techniques (NGI, laser diffraction).
• Knowledge of tissue physiology and airway deposition relevant to aerosol delivery.
• Strong publication record corresponding to career stage.

Responsibilities

• Design and execute in vitro aerosol characterization experiments using EFD techniques.
• Apply physiologically representative benchtop and ex vivo models to study deposition.
• Utilize CFD/PBPK models to complement experimental data and predict deposition.
• Collaborate with formulation scientists and device engineers to translate findings into formulations.
• Communicate findings through reports, presentations, and publications.
