UT-Battelle, located at Oak Ridge National Laboratory, seeks a Postdoctoral Researcher to advance thermal and energy system technologies. The role emphasizes hands-on prototype development, material synthesis, testing, and data analysis within the Multifunctional Equipment Integration Group.

The candidate will prepare publications and technical reports, collaborate with diverse teams, and contribute to ORNL’s mission through impactful research and stakeholder engagement. A Ph.D.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. within the last five years in a relevant field.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in design/operation of experimental thermal/fluid systems, mechanical/chemical systems and instrumentation, fluid dynamics, combustion, and heat transfer, and thermal and mechanical characterization.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Proven publication record.

Responsibilities

• Conduct, coordinate, and report complex research assignments related to energy conversion systems.
• Prepare technical reports, peer-reviewed publications, presentations, and project deliverables.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and engage with researchers, engineers, and stakeholders from academia, national labs, and industry.
