Iowa State University invites applications for a Postdoctoral Scholar to join a USDA-NIFA funded project on reconstructed habitat and bee conservation in farmland. The position is based in Ames, Iowa, with a start window between January 2027 and May 2027 and includes benefits.

Qualifications

• PhD in biology, entomology, ecology, or a closely related field by start date.
• Experience with ecological field research, especially Hymenoptera.

Responsabilités

• Travel to field sites to collect bee health data on wild and managed bees.
• Assist with management and monitoring of honey bee and bumble bee colonies.
• Analyze data and prepare manuscripts for peer‑reviewed publications.
• Collaborate with investigators, staff, students, farmers and partners.
• Assist plant surveys and floral resource measurements, including drone imagery.
• Support interdisciplinary pollinator conservation research in agricultural landscapes.
• Contribute to research planning and mentor students and junior researchers.
