Job summary

The Center for Biologics Evaluation and Research (CBER) at the U.S. Food and Drug Administration in Silver Spring, MD invites a doctoral candidate to a fully funded ORISE fellowship.

You will work on immunological characterization of allergenic products, in vitro and in vivo assay development, and biomarker validation to support regulatory decision-making for diagnostics and therapies. Anticipated start is flexible; appointment is for one year with potential renewal.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing or holding a doctoral degree in Life Health and Medical Sciences or related fields.
• Experience with immunological assays (ELISA, IgE analysis) and related immunotoxicology concepts.
• Ability to apply bioinformatic and statistical tools to immunology datasets and regulatory science.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement in vitro immunoassays for allergenicity and immunogenicity evaluation.
• Analyze immune responses to allergenic products and biomarkers for safety and efficacy.
• Investigate novel immunotherapy approaches and mechanistic studies relevant to food allergy.
• Support regulatory science activities and communicate findings to FDA teams.
