Job summary

The University of Utah School of Architecture invites applications for a Post Doctoral Scholar in AI for Indoor Environmental Quality (IEQ), building decarbonization, and thermal comfort in extreme climates. Qualifications

• Ph.D. in architecture, architectural engineering, or related field.
• Strong background in AI for IEQ, decarbonization, and thermal comfort.
• Experience with energy modeling and indoor air quality.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to conduct literature reviews and publish findings.
• Experience with EnergyPlus or similar simulators.

Responsibilities

• Carry out research in AI for IEQ, building decarbonization, and thermal comfort.
• Conduct simulations and lab/field experiments.
• Develop and apply numerical models for thermal components and systems.
• Create experimental setups and analyze results.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams within the University of Utah.
• Engage with external researchers and industry partners.
• Handle large datasets and data preprocessing.
• Lead manuscript development and contribute to grant proposals.
