Job summary

The SCI Institute at the University of Utah is seeking a postdoctoral researcher to advance AI-ready scholarly discovery platforms, focusing on model discovery, metadata engineering, and evidence extraction. The role emphasizes building pipelines, data integration, and scalable software for research insights.

You will work with faculty, software engineers, PhD students, and postdocs to design and implement workflows, contribute to UI/UX, containerization, and cloud infrastructure while expanding

Qualifications

• PhD in CS or related field; strong publication record preferred.
• Proven CS fundamentals: algorithms, data structures, OOP.
• Experience with web tech, servers, and databases.
• Proficiency in Python/JavaScript and modern web stacks.
• Background in CI/CD and containerized environments (Docker/K8s).

Responsibilities

• Design and develop AI-ready scholarly discovery workflows.
• Build production-grade research software and infrastructure.
• Collaborate with faculty, engineers, and students across projects.
• Develop UI/UX, APIs, and data tooling for model discovery.
• Mentor junior developers and contribute to scholarly outputs.
