NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory, located in Pasadena, CA, invites applications for a postdoctoral position in the Exoplanet Systems group. The focus is on reduction and analysis of high-contrast imaging data, with emphasis on coronagraphy, phase retrieval, and forward modeling for JWST and future missions.

You will develop new analysis methods, apply them to exoplanet observations, and contribute to publications and collaborations with JPL and Caltech scientists.

Qualificações

• Ph.D. in astronomy, astrophysics, physics, or a related field.
• Demonstrated research experience in astronomical data analysis and high-contrast imaging.
• Experience with scientific programming, preferably Python.

Responsabilidades

• Analyze and reduce JWST/NIRCam coronagraphic imaging observations.
• Develop model-based forward modeling and phase retrieval techniques for JWST coronagraphic data.
• Characterize coronagraphic performance and investigate sources of systematic effects.
