Job summary

Kitchen Tune-Up is seeking a Design Drafter & Project Coordinator to bridge the sales team, clients, vendors, and installation crews after a sale. You will transform sketches into precise 3D renderings and exact specifications, ensuring flawless execution and timely communication with homeowners.

Role emphasizes post-sale design, vendor coordination, and installation support, with base salary and performance bonuses. Travel to Essex County sites may be required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience in kitchen and bath drafting, rendering, estimating, or project coordination.
• Highly proficient in 20/20 Design software (or equivalent like ProKitchen/Chief Architect) with a strong portfolio of 3D renderings.
• Deep understanding of cabinetry nomenclature, catalog reading, construction methods, and building materials.
• Attention to detail: measure twice, order once, and spot missing toe-kick or crown molding before it becomes a problem on site.
• Professional demeanor with the ability to communicate technical and aesthetic details clearly to installers and residential clients.
• Must have reliable transportation for occasional site visits in the Essex County area.

Responsibilities

• Receive the post-sale handoff from the Design Sales Consultants.
• Produce high-quality, photorealistic 3D renderings that allow homeowners to visualize their new space and secure final design sign-off.
• Finalize and refine designs in 20/20 ensuring exact clearances, filler requirements, and functional flow.
• Review and verify field measurements against the proposed design to guarantee perfect fitment before ordering.
• Translate approved 20/20 designs into exact vendor order sheets.
• Map custom specifications to specific manufacturer codes (e.g., cabinet doors, drawer boxes, millwork, hardware).
• Place orders, track ETAs, and manage backorders or shipping delays.
• Create comprehensive Installation Packets for field crews with detailed floor plans, elevations, and material checklists.
• Assist with municipal permits and inspections documentation.
• Act as technical liaison for installers with on-site design questions.
• Conduct design review sessions with clients to present renderings and finalize material selections.
• Maintain weekly contact with homeowners during the waiting period between sale and installation.
• Update clients on material shipping statuses and project timelines.
