Job description

onsemi is seeking a highly motivated Waferfab Operator to join the Manufacturing Operations Team. The role of the Manufacturing Specialist is primarily to load wafers into production equipment, verify product specs against equipment settings, monitor equipment operation, monitor process pace/productivity, and recognize when something is out of adjustment.

Shift Requirements
  • Day shift 2: Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and every other Wednesday 6:30 AM-7:00 PM
  • Compressed 12‑hour shift: 3 working days one week and 4 working days the next week.
  • Arrive at the scheduled time and maintain punctuality during breaks and lunches.
Responsibilities
  • Set up and operate tools to process wafers through the applicable stage in the manufacturing process.
  • Use analytic and deductive skills to determine the best strategies for processing wafers, including when to perform tool changeovers; communicate with internal customers and team members to make the best decisions for maximum factory productivity.
  • Make minor corrections to the process and equipment and recognize when a technician or engineer is needed, while suggesting improvements to productivity.
  • Perform process diagnosis and interpretation using Statistical Process Control (SPC) methodology.
  • Perform production processes in accordance with documented specifications and production schedules, interfacing with computer systems to complete job duties.
  • Work with teammates and other departments to prioritize daily tasks that impact team goals.
  • Follow safety and conduct requirements.
  • Able to meet physical requirements:
    • Carry wafer pods weighing 15 pounds throughout the shift.
    • Frequently climb 4–5 step stairs while carrying a wafer pod throughout the shift.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Prior semiconductor or manufacturing experience preferred, but not required.
  • Stable work history is a plus.
Specific Skills Required
  • Work 12‑hour compressed shift in a cleanroom environment.
  • Hard‑working, flexible team player with superior attention to detail and computer knowledge.
  • Ability to multitask and manage a large volume of activity and demands.
  • Wear cleanroom garments, including a bunny suit, gloves, safety glasses, approved cleanroom shoes, and face coverings to protect the product.
  • Carry a pod of wafers weighing 15 pounds throughout the shift.
  • Frequently climb 4–5 stair steps while carrying a wafer pod throughout the shift.
