Job summary

Rutgers Ernest Mario School of Pharmacy invites qualified candidates for a Postdoctoral Resident in Health Outcomes, Policy & Economics. The position supports inpatient and outpatient pharmacy education and research, collaborating with RBHS and Rutgers School of Public Health.

Responsibilities include rounds, designing and evaluating treatment goals, presenting educational in-services, leading education groups, supervising APPE rotations, and presenting research at national conferences.

Qualifications

• PharmD from an ACPE-accredited university.
• Licensed or eligible for licensure in New Jersey.

• Capable of working both independently and on team projects.

Responsibilities

• Attend daily rounds and participate in interdisciplinary treatment teams.
• Design, monitor, and evaluate treatment goals considering patient-, disease-, and drug-specific information.
• Present educational in-services on pharmacy topics to patients, staff and teams.
• Lead inpatient and outpatient pharmacy education groups.
• Supervise pharmacy students on APPE rotations.
• Present didactic lectures to pharmacy students at the Ernest Mario School of Pharmacy.
• Complete a research project related to provision of pharmacy care and present at a national conference.

Though certain responsibilities of the resident are required, the program has the flexibility to develop activities consistent with the resident’s background and career goals. In general, the resident responsibilities include: 1. Attend daily rounds and make appropriate recommendations to interdisciplinary treatment teams 2. Design, monitor, and evaluate treatment goals for patients that consider patient-, disease-, and drug-specific information and ethical considerations 3. Present educational in-services on pharmacy topics to patients, pharmacy staff, and interdisciplinary treatment team 4. Lead inpatient and outpatient pharmacy medication education groups 5. Supervise pharmacy students on Advanced Pharmacy Practice Experience ( APPE ) rotations. 6. Present didactic lectures to pharmacy students at the Rutgers Ernest Mario School of Pharmacy 7. Complete a research project related to the provision of pharmacy care, as well as presenting this research at a national conference
