Post Doctoral Researcher to pursue specialized research training and experience under the guidance of a scientific mentor in the Department of Biomedical Informatics; designs and develops novel computational tools for biomedical data analysis; performs large-scale analysis using omics data; assists in identifying new biomedical data analysis technology and trends; participates as a team member with lab staff, collaborative researchers, and students and to interpret data and discuss project progress; collaborates with other researchers in determining research priorities and planning programs of research; performs relevant published literature searches; assists with writing and submitting grant proposals to obtain extramural funding agencies; writes and prepares research manuscripts, articles, abstracts, and project reports; presents ongoing work and findings at local, national, and international conferences.
Ph.D. degree in one of the following areas: Computer Science, Computer Science and Technology, or other disciplines with strong quantitative background.
Proficiency in at least one programming language, such as R, C, Python or MATLAB, is strongly preferred; knowledge in genomics, genetics, or proteomics is desired but not required.
