The Space Telescope Science Institute (STScI) invites applications for a post‑doctoral researcher position to work with Dr. Leonardo dos Santos and Dr. Joshua Lothringer on observational studies of atmospheres of hot, gas‑giant exoplanets, specifically the properties of their upper atmospheres and a detailed study of the lower atmosphere of the hottest known exoplanet. This research will include analysis and interpretation of UV observations with the STIS instrument on the Hubble Space Telescope (HST) and near‑IR observations with the NIRISS instrument on the James Webb Space Telescope (JWST). Part of the time may be available for independent research or new projects in related areas. The nominal start date is flexible, but it can start as early as October 2026. The initial appointment is for two years, with an expected renewal to a third year subject to satisfactory performance and availability of funding.
