This post-doc will work in the laboratory of Dr.BrianWalker on the Genomics and Epigenomics of Multiple Myeloma, which is embedded inSylvester’s Myeloma Institute (Director Dr C. Ola Landgren) whichis a world-class Center of Excellence for clinical care and cutting-edge research focused on multiple myeloma and its precursor conditions. Sylvester’s Myeloma Institute is part of Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center (Director Dr. Stephen Nimer), the only NCI designated cancer center in Southern Florida.
The successful applicant will analyze complex genomic datasets originating from patient samples, patient-derived xenografts, and cell lines. We use large genomic datasets to identify the mechanisms of disease progression, treatment resistance, and biological processes. This analysis includes identification of mutations, copy number changes, and structural variants as well as DNA methylation profiles and chromatin states. We use both short-read and long-read data as well as proximity ligation data to inform DNA topology and super-enhancer interactions across the genome.
Techniques to be used include:analysis of whole genome sequencing, DNA methylation, Micro‑C, ChIP‑seq, RNA‑seq data from patient samples and myeloma cell lines.
Preferred: experience with NGS analysis, R/Python, other computational languages, bioinformatic analysis.
