Post-Doctoral Associate - Morkos
Position: Post-Doctoral Associate – Manufacturing and AI (18‑month appointment ending May 2026). Salary: $57,000–$62,000 annually based on experience. Anticipated start date: 01/11/2024. Work location: Athens, GA. Full‑time, 40 hours per week.
Responsibilities
- Project Management:
- Oversee day‑to‑day operations of research projects, ensuring milestones and deadlines are met.
- Coordinate resources and maintain clear communication among team members.
- Monitor outcomes and adjust plans to align with research goals.
- Student Mentorship:
- Guide undergraduate and graduate students on research methods and experimental design.
- Support skill development and academic growth.
- Foster an inclusive learning environment that encourages innovation in AI and manufacturing.
- Proposal Development:
- Identify funding opportunities and collaborate on grant proposals.
- Draft technical sections related to AI and manufacturing objectives.
- Ensure proposals emphasize innovation, impact, and societal benefit.
- Research and Innovation:
- Conduct independent research on AI applications in manufacturing.
- Identify emerging trends and opportunities for integration.
- Develop new initiatives and interdisciplinary collaborations.
- Collaboration and Networking:
- Engage with academic, industry, and governmental partners.
- Present findings at conferences and workshops.
- Represent the project in professional forums.
- Publication and Dissemination:
- Prepare and submit research papers to peer‑reviewed journals and conferences.
- Collaborate on technical reports and broader scientific communication.
Qualifications
- PhD in Engineering, computer science, or a related field.
- Experience in artificial intelligence, machine learning, or manufacturing processes.
- Strong project management and communication skills.
- Background in grant proposal writing is a plus.
- Proficiency in data analysis and experimental design.
