Post-Doctoral Associate - Morkos

Position: Post-Doctoral Associate – Manufacturing and AI (18‑month appointment ending May 2026). Salary: $57,000–$62,000 annually based on experience. Anticipated start date: 01/11/2024. Work location: Athens, GA. Full‑time, 40 hours per week.

Responsibilities
  • Project Management:
    • Oversee day‑to‑day operations of research projects, ensuring milestones and deadlines are met.
    • Coordinate resources and maintain clear communication among team members.
    • Monitor outcomes and adjust plans to align with research goals.
  • Student Mentorship:
    • Guide undergraduate and graduate students on research methods and experimental design.
    • Support skill development and academic growth.
    • Foster an inclusive learning environment that encourages innovation in AI and manufacturing.
  • Proposal Development:
    • Identify funding opportunities and collaborate on grant proposals.
    • Draft technical sections related to AI and manufacturing objectives.
    • Ensure proposals emphasize innovation, impact, and societal benefit.
  • Research and Innovation:
    • Conduct independent research on AI applications in manufacturing.
    • Identify emerging trends and opportunities for integration.
    • Develop new initiatives and interdisciplinary collaborations.
  • Collaboration and Networking:
    • Engage with academic, industry, and governmental partners.
    • Present findings at conferences and workshops.
    • Represent the project in professional forums.
  • Publication and Dissemination:
