Job summary

The AURORA Lab at the University of Minnesota's Center for Magnetic Resonance Research seeks a postdoctoral researcher to advance ultrahigh-field MRI hardware and ultrahigh-resolution neuroimaging.

The successful candidate will design, simulate, construct, and experimentally evaluate RF and electronic systems for biomedical imaging, collaborating across disciplines; this is a full-time, one-year position with possible extension.

Qualifications

  • PhD in Electrical Engineering or closely related field.
  • At least four years of research experience in biomedical technologies.
  • Experience performing advanced electromagnetic simulations and developing realistic human-body models for electromagnetic simulation environments.
  • Experience conducting measurements using RF laboratory equipment, including network analyzers and oscilloscopes.

Responsibilities

About the Job

The AURORA Lab at the University of Minnesota's Center for Magnetic Resonance Research is seeking a postdoctoral researcher to contribute to an NIH-funded project focused on developing innovative techniques and hardware for ultrahigh-field magnetic resonance imaging, with an emphasis on ultrahigh-resolution neuroimaging.
The successful candidate will participate in the design, simulation, construction, and experimental evaluation of advanced RF and electronic systems for biomedical imaging applications. The candidate is expected to have a strong background in developing innovative electronic hardware and computational tools for biomedical research and to work effectively within a multidisciplinary research environment.
This is a full-time, one-year position available immediately, with the possibility of extension based on satisfactory performance, achievement of project goals, and continued funding.

Qualifications
Required Qualifications
  • PhD in Electrical Engineering or a closely related field.
  • At least four years of research experience in areas related to biomedical technologies.
  • Experience performing advanced electromagnetic simulations and developing realistic human-body models for electromagnetic simulation environments.
  • Experience conducting measurements using RF laboratory equipment, including network analyzers and oscilloscopes.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Doctoral research focused on electronics, RF engineering, or biomedical hardware.
  • Experience designing phased-array antennas for biomedical applications.
  • Experience using electromagnetic simulation software, particularly Ansys HFSS and CST Studio Suite.
  • Experience with numerical optimization techniques
  • Strong written and oral communication skills, with the ability to effectively present and publish research findings
Pay and Benefits

Pay Range: $63,480 - $77,076; depending on education/qualifications/experience
