Position Summary

The Richer Lab in the Department of Microbiology & Immunology at the Indiana University School of Medicine seeks a highly motivated postdoctoral fellow. The lab studies mechanisms of T cell development, activation, and memory generation in both acute and chronic viral infections. Current projects include: 1) the impact of excessive salt consumption on T cell responses; 2) modulation of effector and memory T cell function by the inflammatory milieu; 3) the role of glycosylation in T cell function and differentiation; and 4) immunological aging with emphasis on maintenance T‑cell quiescence. Responsibilities

• Conduct experimental work related to T‑cell biology using mouse infection models and flow cytometry techniques. • Design and carry out experiments, analyze data, and troubleshoot protocols. • Work independently while collaborating closely with Dr. Richer and lab members. • Contribute to the writing of peer‑reviewed manuscripts and prepare grant applications. • Participate in a collaborative and dynamic research environment within the growing immunology community at IU School of Medicine.

Qualifications
  • Doctorate degree in biological sciences, preferably immunology or microbiology/virology.
  • Recent completion of PhD training.
  • Solid understanding of immunological concepts and a demonstrated publication track record.
  • Experience working with mouse models of infection and expertise in flow cytometry are desirable but not required.
