Job summary

Baylor College of Medicine's Research Administration Manager oversees the post-award financial management of grants and contracts within the Department of Pediatrics. This role requires knowledge of the full sponsored award lifecycle, from proposal development through closeout, with primary responsibility for post-award administration and compliance.

The position leads the Grants & Contracts team, ensures operational efficiency, and complies with institutional and federal regulations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; CRA certification may substitute for degree.
• Four years of relevant experience.
• Experience with grants and contracts in a research/academic healthcare setting.
• Advanced Excel and financial systems experience.

Responsibilities

• Provides leadership for post-award grants and contracts within the Department of Pediatrics.
• Directly supervises the Pediatrics Grants & Contracts team and drives staff development.
• Oversees reconciliation, monitoring, and financial stewardship of sponsored awards.
• Reviews post-award expenditures for allowability, allocability, and support.
• Oversees financial reporting using SAP, CTMS and other institutional tools.
• Monitors effort commitments and communicates salary support requirements to investigators.
• Ensures compliance with institutional policies, sponsor requirements, and federal regulations.
• Develops and maintains standard operating procedures for consistency and efficiency.
• Partners with Division Heads and investigators to support research strategy and portfolio management.
• Presents financial and activity reports to CRA and division leadership.
