Job summary

Fairview Hospital / Cleveland Clinic is seeking a skilled PACU nurse to provide immediate post-operative care, focusing on airway, neurological, and cardiac monitoring. You will collaborate with surgical and anesthesia teams to support patient safety and recovery.

You will educate patients and families on post-operative care and recovery expectations, and accurately document assessments and outcomes according to clinical standards.

Qualifications

• Current registered healthcare professional with PACU/post-operative nursing expertise.
• Ability to monitor vital signs, consciousness, and cardiopulmonary status.
• Skilled in early recognition of complications and escalation of care.
• Proficient wound care and post-operative safety knowledge.
• Strong communication and teamwork with multidisciplinary teams.
• Accurate documentation and patient education abilities.
• On-call availability as required.

Job description

Provide immediate post-operative care to surgical patients in the PACU, including close monitoring of airway, neurological, and cardiac status. Rapidly identify and respond to post-operative complications, and deliver initial wound care.

Collaborate with surgical and anesthesia teams to support safe patient recovery. Provide patient and family education on post-operative care and recovery expectations. Document patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes in accordance with clinical standards.

Qualifications & Skills
