We are looking for a passionate and skilled copywriter to join our creative team and help us craft powerful narratives that reflect our mission and resonate with our audience.

Position Overview:

As a copywriter at Kufi Productions, you will be responsible for creating compelling written content that amplifies our message and engages our audience across a variety of media platforms. You will work closely with the social media, marketing, and production teams to develop creative and impactful copy that aligns with our brand’s voice and mission. Your work will help drive our content strategy, elevate our storytelling, and create meaningful connections with our diverse and global audience.

Key Responsibilities:

• Write clear, engaging, and creative copy for a variety of formats, including social media posts, website copy, blog articles, video scripts, press releases, newsletters, and promotional materials.
• Ensure all content aligns with Kufi Productions’ brand voice and mission to amplify underrepresented and marginalized voices. Maintain consistency across all written communications.
• Work closely with the Social Media Manager and Marketing Strategist to craft compelling social media content that drives engagement, supports campaigns, and builds community. Write captivating captions, headlines, and calls-to-action.
• Develop narratives that highlight social justice issues, cultural movements, and the stories of marginalized communities, creating an emotional connection with the audience.
• Work with creative teams (social media, video production, marketing, and PR) to support overall content strategies, campaigns, and storytelling efforts.
• Conduct research on relevant topics, current events, and trends within the media, social justice, and entertainment sectors to inform content and ensure relevance.
• Assist in brainstorming creative content ideas and strategies that support the growth of Kufi Productions’ digital presence, social impact, and engagement.
• Edit and proofread copy to ensure clarity, accuracy, and adherence to style guidelines. Ensure all content is grammatically sound and error-free.
• Collaborate with the social media and marketing teams to evaluate the effectiveness of written content through metrics and feedback, adjusting strategies as necessary.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in English, Journalism, Communications, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• Proven Experience as a copywriter or content writer, preferably in media, social justice, or nonprofit sectors.
• Exceptional ability to write clear, engaging, and persuasive copy with a strong command of grammar and storytelling techniques.
• Familiarity with writing for various social media platforms (Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, TikTok, etc.) and understanding of best practices for online engagement.
• Ability to craft compelling narratives while considering both creative and strategic aspects of content creation.
• A deep commitment to amplifying underrepresented voices and advocating for marginalized communities.
• Strong ability to conduct thorough research and synthesize information into engaging, well-informed content.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to work well with teams and contribute to brainstorming sessions.
• A keen eye for detail and commitment to delivering high‑quality, error‑free work under deadlines.

Preferred Skills:

• Understanding of search engine optimization (SEO) and how to optimize content for online visibility.
• Experience creating content for video, podcast scripts, or multimedia formats is a plus.
• Familiarity with content marketing strategies and performance tracking tools.
• Awareness of current trends in media, digital storytelling, and social justice movements.
