Job summary

Mercer Advisors is seeking a Portfolio Operations Specialist to support portfolio reporting, data integrity, and reconciliation across multiple custodial platforms. You will work with Portfolio Consultants, Wealth Management teams, Compliance and technology partners to ensure accurate client reporting and timely resolution of exceptions.

  • At least 1 year of experience in a professional investment management environment preferred
  • Experience with Envestnet systems helpful
  • Experience with Salesforce, Excel and Access helpful

Responsibilities

  • Investigate, analyze, and resolve cost basis and performance reporting discrepancies across portfolio accounting and reporting platforms.
  • Perform daily account reviews and reconciliations to ensure data accuracy with custodial records.
  • Conduct audits to maintain compliance with reporting standards, data governance, and quality controls.
  • Review corporate actions and assess downstream impacts on holdings and restrictions.
  • Generate and troubleshoot quarterly client reporting deliverables and data integrity issues.
  • Collaborate with Portfolio Operations, Compliance, Tech and custodians to identify root causes and improvements.
  • Monitor reporting exceptions and document findings for audit readiness.
  • Improve reporting processes and data quality controls for efficiency and scalability.
  • Interact with client service teams to resolve issues on third-party systems.
  • Troubleshoot with creativity and latitude; perform other duties as needed

Job Summary

The Portfolio Operations Specialist is responsible for supporting portfolio reporting, account data integrity, reconciliation processes, and operational oversight across multiple custodial platforms. This role works closely with Portfolio Consultants, Wealth Management teams, Portfolio Management Groups, Compliance, Advisors, and technology partners to ensure accurate client reporting and timely resolution of operational exceptions.
The ideal candidate possesses strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage complex data across multiple systems while maintaining high standards of accuracy and client service.

Essential Job Functions for the Portfolio Operations Specialist will include:
  • Investigate, analyze, and resolve cost basis and performance reporting discrepancies across portfolio accounting and reporting platforms.
  • Perform daily account reviews and reconciliations to ensure the accuracy and completeness of trading activity, positions, and reporting data in alignment with custodial records and reporting systems.
  • Conduct proactive portfolio audits and quality control reviews to maintain compliance with Mercer Advisors reporting standards, policies, and data governance practices.
  • Review and analyze corporate actions to assess downstream impacts on portfolio holdings, trading activity, reporting accuracy, and account-specific investment restrictions.
  • Generate, validate, and troubleshoot quarterly client reporting deliverables, ensuring timely production and resolution of reporting exceptions and data integrity issues.
  • Partner with Portfolio Operations, Compliance, Technology, and custodial partners to identify root causes of reporting discrepancies and implement sustainable process improvements.
  • Monitor and resolve reporting exceptions, escalating issues as appropriate and documenting findings to support operational transparency and audit readiness.
  • Contribute to the enhancement of reporting processes, reconciliation procedures, and data quality controls to improve accuracy, efficiency, and scalability.
  • Interacts with client service teams to resolve issues on third-party systems
  • Must be able to troubleshoot with creativity and latitude
  • Performs other duties assigned as needed
Required Knowledge, Skills And Abilities
  • High school diploma required
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution strongly preferred (preferably Business, Economics, Accounting or Finance related)
  • At least 1 year of experience in a professional investment management environment preferred
  • Experience with Envestnet systems helpful
  • Excellent communication skills with a strong ability to prioritize, multi-task and troubleshoot
  • Experience with the Orion Advisor Solutions preferred
  • Experience with Salesforce, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Access helpful
Work Schedule

Monday through Friday, 8:00AM – 5:00PM

Working Conditions

Professional office environment, daytime hours, working inside, standing, and sitting, will be assigned to a work station, no heavy lifting over 10 lbs.

Actual base pay within this range will be based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to the applicant’s geographic location, relevant experience, education, skills and licenses/certifications. This position is also eligible to earn incentive compensation through one of Mercer Advisors’ incentive compensation programs.

Base Pay Range

$25 - $29 USD
