Job summary

NextGear Capital is seeking a Portfolio Manager III to oversee a Houston-based territory, optimizing client credit usage and growth. You will engage clients, analyze financials, and collaborate with Risk and Recovery to protect profitability.

The role requires strong financial acumen, superb communication, and Salesforce documentation. Travel up to 75% is necessary; a remote-capable, in-state candidate is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline; 4+ years in finance, client-facing, B2B, account management and/or collections.
• Automotive floorplan industry background preferred.
• Strong financial acumen and ability to read financial statements (P&L, balance sheet).

Responsibilities

• Optimize each client’s use of credit lines from $50,000 to $2,500,000 as a floor plan SME.
• Achieve targets by engaging with clients and collaborating with internal partners to drive revenue and minimize risk.
• Educate clients on best practices, self-service options, and policy compliance.
• Collect and analyze client financials and reports to monitor dealer performance and growth.
• Identify growth targets and distressed accounts using historical data and tools.
• Collaborate with Risk and Recovery on pre-default and post-default collection efforts.
• Perform inventory inspections and ensure quality control and accurate audits.
• Act as fiduciary and report any non-compliance or potential fraud.
• Maintain high integrity and document conversations in Salesforce per KPIs.
• Onboard new clients to ensure a positive experience and cross-sell Cox Automotive solutions.
• Cultivate cross-functional Cox Automotive relationships to identify opportunities.
