Job summary

Transamerica is seeking an Investment Analytics Analyst to support portfolio managers and the Chief Investment Office. You will collect and organize quantitative information using Aladdin, Bloomberg, Clearwater Analytics, and Excel, while aiding in risk assessment and benchmark projects.

The role requires a quantitative degree, 1–2 years in fixed income analytics or asset management, and strong analytical skills to translate data into actionable insights for investment decisions.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a quantitative discipline.
  • 1-2 years of relevant experience in fixed income investment analytics, insurance investments, or institutional asset management.
  • Experience in a front-office investment role at a bank, hedge fund, asset management firm, or insurance company.
  • Proficient in Excel.
  • Experience using Bloomberg, BlackRock Aladdin, and Clearwater Analytics.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate analysis into clear, actionable recommendations.

Responsibilities

  • Handle recurring projects independently after initial training and adapt to market or portfolio-specific circumstances.
  • Assist portfolio managers in modeling and analysis of asset-liability risks (duration, convexity, credit, reinvestment, liquidity).
  • Provide analytical support for benchmark construction, trade analysis, and commentary on portfolio changes.
  • Support evaluations of capital and yield positioning and communicate insights clearly to stakeholders.

Job Description Summary

The primary responsibility of this role is to provide analytical support both to the team of portfolio managers and business unit directors charged with managing the Transamerica portfolios and to support the work of the Transamerica Chief Investment Office.

Job Description
  • Collect, produce and organize quantitative information necessary for portfolio decision-making using a variety of software tools including Blackrock’s Aladdin system, ClearWater Analytics, Bloomberg, Excel, and Power BI.
  • Some projects will be recurring in nature and others will be designed to address specific circumstances that have arisen in the markets or in specific portfolios.
  • Recurring projects will constitute a part of the responsibilities that analysts will be expected to complete without direction after initial training.
  • Assist portfolio managers in modeling and analysis of historical, current and potential asset‑liability risks such as duration, convexity, credit, reinvestment and liquidity within portfolios.
  • Provide analytical support for projects such as benchmark construction, trade analysis, evaluation of capital and yield positioning, and commentary on drivers of portfolio changes.
