CAIS Advisors is a SEC registered investment advisor that provides, or expects to provide, discretionary advisory services to private funds and registered investment companies, as well offer non-discretionary services for customized alternative investment model portfolios available to financial institutions that access the CAIS Platform. Funds managed by CAIS Advisors will engage in multi-manager fund-of-funds strategies such as private equity, private credit, hedge funds, real assets, and other strategies such as co-investments and secondaries.

CAIS is seeking a skilled professional to join the Portfolio Implementation team, responsible for optimizing portfolio construction, execution, and risk management to enhance investment outcomes. The ideal candidate will have experience in portfolio implementation, trading operations, or investment operations for liquid portfolios, with a strong technical skill set to drive automation and process improvements. This role requires a keen analytical mindset, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate across investment, trading, risk, and compliance teams. The candidate should be passionate about enhancing portfolio efficiency through technology-driven solutions while ensuring alignment with investment objectives and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities:

  • Portfolio & Risk Management: Monitor portfolio exposures, liquidity, and risks to ensure alignment with investment objectives and compliance with legal/regulatory limits. Identify and resolve issues proactively. Develop reporting frameworks to enhance transparency and decision-making for portfolio managers and stakeholders.
  • Portfolio Rebalancing & Trading: Generate and execute portfolio trades, coordinating with traders to ensure efficient execution while monitoring transaction costs and execution quality.
  • Automation & System Development: Design, develop, and enhance portfolio implementation systems, incorporating automation, reporting tools, and data-driven insights to optimize workflows.
  • Process Optimization: Continuously evaluate and refine portfolio implementation workflows, identifying and implementing best practices to improve efficiency and reduce operational risks.

Requirements:

  • Experience in portfolio implementation, trading operations, or investment operations for liquid portfolios (private markets experience is a plus but not required).
  • Strong coding skills (Python, Java/Kotlin, etc.) for automation, portfolio analysis, and data management. Knowledge of Order Management Systems (e.g., Enfusion, EMSX/AIM, Charles River) a plus.
  • Familiarity with portfolio management and risk systems. Experience with Order Management Systems (OMS) and knowledge of legal/regulatory compliance is a plus.
  • Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and ability to collaborate cross-functionally with investment, operations, trading, risk, legal, and compliance teams.

CAIS’ compensation package includes a market competitive salary, a performance bonus, and exceptional benefits. If you are located in New York, New York, the base salary range for this role is $120,000 - $160,000 . Actual compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, and specific office location.
