Job summary

3dblabs seeks a Hardware Technical Lead to act as the senior portfolio-level technical authority for hardware architecture, standards, lifecycle, and manufacturability across our products. The role establishes a coherent hardware foundation while allowing product-specific approaches when mission or technical requirements justify them.

You will partner with the Software Technical Lead, Engineering, Production and QA to govern portfolio decisions and to lead design reviews and technology

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in EE, ME, CE, or systems engineering; advanced degree a plus.
• Significant hardware or systems engineering experience with leadership responsibilities.
• Experience across electrical, mechanical, compute, RF, power, and thermal domains.
• Proven ability to lead trade studies and design reviews; mentor engineers.
• Experience with ruggedized or defense/mission systems; low-volume manufacturing desirable.
• Current or past US security clearance a major plus; Top Secret is often advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Establish common hardware architecture principles and standards across compute, electrical, and mechanical domains.
• Lead design reviews and trade studies for significant hardware, redesigns, and technology refreshes.
• Coordinate with Product Technical Leads, Engineering, Production and QA for portfolio decisions.
• Support lifecycle management, obsolescence handling, and supply risk mitigation across products.
