Job summary

Northmarq’s Summer Internship Program in Bloomington, MN invites two interns to gain hands-on exposure to commercial real estate finance. You will support deadlines for property inspections, financial analyses, and escrow reviews while learning from Asset and Portfolio Managers.

The internship emphasizes analytical, detail-oriented work, independent problem-solving, and meeting deadlines. Training, a team project, and senior-management networking are provided.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Business, preferably in the finance, real estate, or accounting area.
• Strong skills in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word
• Excellent oral and written communication skills; customer service oriented; detail oriented

Responsibilities

• Plan and schedule own workload to meet benchmarks.
• Provide premier customer service to lenders, borrowers, other Northmarq staff, and outside vendors.
• Review and process loan escrow disbursement requests.
• Support and observe Asset and Portfolio Managers in handling consent requests (e.g., property management changes, repair extensions, loan payoffs, lease approvals).
• Review and assess commercial property inspections conducted by third-party vendors and regional offices.
• Work with customers to resolve outstanding inspection deferred maintenance.
• Participate in the Summer Intern Team Project and present to Senior Management.
• Attend weekly mentor meetings and networking meetings with Senior Management.
• Perform other reasonable tasks/projects to assist Portfolio Management Teams
