A financial services firm is seeking a Portfolio Analyst in Boston, Massachusetts. In this full-time role, you will develop investment proposals, monitor portfolios, and support clients with exceptional service. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of wealth management experience and relevant certifications. This role offers the flexibility to work from either the Wellesley or Westminster office.

Successful, nationally recognized Investment and Planning team is seeking a Portfolio Analyst to join our team and participate in the next chapter of our ongoing growth. We have offices located in Wellesley and Westminster, Massachusetts. We are willing to accommodate which office you will be in depending on your location and comfortability.

Responsibilities

You will support the team by developing investment proposals, monitoring portfolio holdings, analyzing allocations, researching investments, managing models, and trading client accounts.

Develop and prepare account proposals for existing and prospective clients

  • Analyze current & proposed investment portfolios for diversification, risk, return profiles, etc.
  • Use variety of analytic tools – Morningstar, Envestnet, Y-charts, etc.

Invest and monitor all new and existing accounts

  • Execute portfolio rebalancing and trades
  • Monitor and manage cash flows (new / ongoing contributions and ongoing / ad‑hoc distributions)
  • Run and analyze performance reports in Envestnet, Morningstar and other proprietary systems
  • Track and execute tax loss harvest/tax avoidance opportunities

Keep informed of the latest events in financial markets and relay research and market views

  • Monitor industry trends and research, participate in macro / thematic calls

Prepare written narrative of market trends and portfolio performance for quarterly & annual client updates

Participate in quarterly team Investment Committee meetings, provide insights and recommendations for product, allocation, and strategy updates

Ensure all compliance requirements are implemented and followed

Participate in client meetings and respond to client requests & questions in a timely manner

Provide exceptional client & team support

Qualifications
  • Series 7 and 66 licensed (or willing to obtain)
  • 5+ years wealth management/investment experience (minimum required)
  • CFP credential or actively seeking other industry credentials, i.e., CFA, CIMA, APMA, RICP, etc.
  • Solid understanding of macroeconomics and underlying forces that drive financial markets
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office – Outlook, Word, strong Excel and data analytics skills
  • Life insurance license (or willing to obtain)
  • Experience with CRM client management software
  • Self‑motivated and able to work effectively in both independent and collaborative environments
  • Strong time management skills and ability to prioritize
  • Ability to multi‑task and work with numerous colleagues and departments within the firm
  • Above average analytical and research skills, strong attention to detail
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
