Job summary

Compass Group USA is hiring for a full-time Porter at the Sunnyvale, CA site. The role supports front-of-house operations, maintains high cleanliness standards, and ensures safe handling of dishes and deliveries in a fast-paced environment.

Ideal candidates have high-volume dish experience, FOH/porter background, and food safety knowledge. The position offers a stable schedule and benefits typical of Eurest/Compass Group operations.

Qualifications

• High-volume dish experience required.
• FOH, porter/stocker experience, and food safety knowledge are a plus.
• Ability to perform essential duties in a fast-paced environment.
• Must be able to lift and move supplies as needed.

Responsibilities

• Maintains cleanliness and sanitation of front of house, including tables, counters, floors and beverage station.
• Bus, clear and clean tables during peak service; prep areas prior to service.
• Transport dishes safely from front of house to the kitchen using trays or carts.
• Wash dishes and clean cooking stations to ensure sanitation.
• Assist in receiving deliveries and moving goods to storage with proper lifting techniques.
• Ensure proper presentation and serving temperatures following HACCP standards.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Adhere to all safety and sanitation standards at all times.

• Schedule: Full time schedule. Monday - Friday, 7:00 am - 3:30 pm. More details upon interview.

• Pay Range: $22.00 per hour to$25.00per hour

Job Summary

Summary: Maintains cleanliness and sanitation of the front of the house, including all tables, counters, floors, windows and beverage station.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Ensures tables are bussed, cleared and cleaned and floors are cleared and swept during peak service times and are prepped prior to service.
• Follows safety procedures when transporting dishes and utensils from the front of the house to the kitchen area using trays, bus tubs or carts.
• Washes dishes, glasses and pots; cleans cooking stations and equipment to expedite a smooth flow of service while maintaining sanitation standards.
• Scrapes and rinses food from dishes and washes them by hand or places them in racks or on conveyor to dishwashing machine depending on assigned equipment. Ensures complete cleanliness and sanitation.
• Keeps display equipment clean, free of debris and in compliance with all safety and sanitation standards during meal service.
• Helps receive heavy deliveries from dock and transports them to assigned storage areas while observing all safe lifting standards.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Ensures proper presentation, portion control and maintenance of serving temperatures; follows HACCP standards.
• Personal commitment to your own safety and that of others.
• Abides by all Company policies and procedures including but not limited to:
  • The use of a medium weight cut gloves when handling or using knives, peelers, choppers, mandolins or cleaning a slicer.
  • The use of oven mitts, fryer gloves or steamer gloves when handling hot pans from ovens, warmers or steamtables.
  • The use of slip-resistant shoes and proper lifting techniques.
