Job summary

Vanguard Truck Centers is hiring a Shop Porter in La Vergne, TN. The role requires a CDL (minimum Class B) and a High School diploma or GED. You will assist in keeping the shop clean, organized, and safe while supporting truck maintenance activities.

Typical duties include moving trucks within the shop, inspecting equipment, replacing filters, and ensuring cleanliness of work areas. A team-oriented, safety-minded attitude is essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; or 1–3 months related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Valid CDL, Minimum Class B.

Responsibilities

• Moves Trucks around the shop (CDL Required).
• Sweeps, shovels, or vacuums loose debris or salvageable scrap into containers and removes containers from work areas.
• Checks and empty garbage cans.
• Clean and organize center shop isles.
• Clean up and de-clutter work benches.
• Remove and replace filters.
• Empty scrap iron containers.
• Inspect airline hoses for leaks.
• Clean used oil dump area.
• Inspect and clean washer bay.
• Clean and organize tool room.
• Pick up debris and garbage on fence line and landscaping.
• Inspect eye wash station.
• Inspect and repair painted safety lines.
